As a Man Thinks in his Heart, So Is He RHEMA WORD (12 / 10/ 07)

I had a series of dreams that had me in situations and relationships with others. The idea of helping people in my dream seemed appealing and gratifying to me. In the dream I had a source of income coming in, and didn’t have a finical need in taking care of the problems.

At the end of the dreams, I thought; this would be a nice way to live, and I wish I could live this way. But in reality, my finical future is unsure, unstable and could even end up in financial rune.

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Pr. 23:7)

(Phl. 2:2-3) “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one heart and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don’t think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing.”

(Rom. 12:3, 5-6, 9-18)  “—Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you. —And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others. God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically. Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful. When God’s children are in need, be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or, if they need lodging, for the night. If people persecute you because you are a Christian, don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow. Live in harmony with other. Don’t try to act important, but enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible.”

(Phil.2:12-15)  “—Put into action God’s saving work in your lives, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what pleases Him. In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing, so that no one speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in dark world full of crooked and perverse people.  Let your lives shine brightly before them.”

(Phil. 4:4-9, 13)  “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again – rejoice! Let everyone see you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. —Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about these things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.”

(James 4:4-8, 10)  “—Friendship with this world makes you as an enemy of God? I say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy this world, you can’t be a friend of God. What do you think the scriptures mean when they say that the Holy Spirit, whom God has pleased within us, jealously longs for us to be faithful? He gives us more and more strength to stand against such evil desires. As scriptures say, ‘God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble. So humble yourselves before God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. —When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on Him, He will lift you up and give you honor.
