God has been showing me that the book of Joshua in scripture is a pattern, a manual, a guide of things to come; to prepare for the return of Jesus Christ. I n the names, locations, methods and procedures open up a depth of deeper understanding of how the final battles shall be fought to regain dominion over the earth.
Jesus is the English name for Joshua(str. 3091, 3068) meaning: salvation, Jewish leader, national name of God, the Lord, deliverer, bringing salvation, victory.
Joshua is a type of Jesus Christ, representing His second coming as the concurring king. Jericho means: (str. 3405) Heb. From (3394, 3391) means from the moon, month; from (7306, 7307) from the word ruwach; refers to spirit, blow, breathe, perceive. Combined = the moon spirit. Or is this Allah the Muslim Moon God.
The name Jericho, besides being the first major battle to gain the Promised Land is a major reference to what is happening in the present world situation. The same battle is going to be fought again. The definition of the name Jericho described the spirit god of the Muslims, who seek to destroy the Jews and the Christians, and control the world.
Jesus Christ, living in us and through us through us by the Holy Spirit, is getting ready to take those who endured and overcame the wilderness journey, made ready to cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land.
As Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River, so also we must follow His lead, from sin and death, into abundant life. With the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, to defeat and destroy the powers of darkness, and take back what the enemy has stolen. To destroy their strongholds, and to cleanse the land from the corruption of sin and death, in order to welcome in the coming King of kings, and Lord of lords; to reign for a thousand years over the Earth.
As Jesus Christ did, we must also be able to do, which is to die to self, and become alive to God through the Spirit. ‘Not my will, but God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. They will be ready, obedient solders’ of the cross, willing to step forth in the face of danger with faith believing, that the victory will be theirs. For there is none greater than the ‘God of Creation’, they serve.
The fall of Jericho and how it was accomplished, found in (Joshua 5:13 to 6:27), may give spiritual insight on how to defeat and destroy our first great demonic stronghold, to make way for the Sabbath millennial reign of Jesus over the earth.
